The logans families are African American and own their own land. Cassie family and other African American faced so many problems due to racism and discrimination. Her family faced a lot of challenges because of their skin color.

We can learn so many things from this novel. This novel teaches us how the logan family deal with these challenges and the unfair treatment they faced. The young African American girl, Cassie learnt a lot about how their people treated differently because of their skin color.
